28 October 2007 - Back at the Bear

Back to the Bear Tavern for our Autumnal visit. Support band, The Reverie, were very good, sounding like John Martyn + Ray Lamontangne. They almost made me want to give up and not go on. It was first time out for Alison's cello and it was used to lovely effect on "After The Waltz" and "Beautiful" sounded well, beautiful! I did however muck up "Bringing the Blue Sky Back". Alison and Sir Rushbo did a sterling vocal support job. Ian and Steve provided the meaty backbeat and Waz played a blinder on his solos, whilst the Miller man ended "What I Want" with a rather pleasing sonic attack. Time was getting on though, so we dropped our cover of "One". Big up to Ian and Paul's other band Anorakula who provided a rocky set of covers and foolishly allowed me to join them for "Copperhead Road" whilst shouting out the chord changes to me (it was fun though!). Overall I quite enjoyed this one and it was good to see some new faces in the audience too who seemed to enjoy it.
