An impromtu gig -

The Stage - Birmingham city centre. 26 May 05

Not particularly one to shout about. But Mark and Paul gathered to do a few Fools songs and some new covers for a launch party for the Central Library. The general public were also in attendance.

Mark " I wanted to take a chance to do some covers that the band had never tried, some worked , some especially "The Winner Takes It All" didn't! Of our own songs a few mild ripples of applause greeted them as they finished. We were followed by a perfectly adequate covers band and the audience came to life. I could rant on about the narrow mindedness of some Birmingham audiences, but I won't take up space too much. Suffice to say that it seems all people want these days is tributes and covers bands. Original music seems to be greeted with a wall of disinterest, unless your playing to fellow musicians, who are most likely to be seeing what you're up to. As if to prove my point the only person who asked us about the band was a music student!"

The set was : Pretty Little Head, I Got You (Split Enz), Halleujah (Leonard Cohen), Hungry For your Love, American Girl (Tom Petty), Copperhead Road (Steve Earle), Walls, The Winner Takes It All (Abba), Ain't No Sunshine (Bill Withers), Brown Eyed Girl ( Van Morrison).

Personnel : Mark Winters (vocals, guitar), Paul Miller (viola, Millertronics).
