Straight Outta Bearwood!

The Bear Tavern- Bearwood.W.Mids. 22nd October 2005

The return of the band to our old haunt, The Bear after many years was loud and rockin'! The visit co-incided with a more positive attitude towards live music promotion by the management. Lovely to see so many people there, including lots of new faces! We had some nice comments from folks that hadn't see us for ages, including friends and family. Difficult to get a decent sound on stage but we could hear ourselves.Seemed to sound OK out front though. Some of the best comments came from folks who said they preferred our own songs to the covers. Speaking of which this gig debuted our version of The Knack hit "My Sharona". I had to change some of the dodgy lyrics but no one seemed to notice -(how did they get away with it in those days?!). Despite a few dodgy rehearsals of it, it "rocked a fat one!" ( as Mr Miller would say) and reduced our drummer Ian to a puddle of sweat!. We were going to attempt our first ever performance of "Is That Love", but couldn't get it together in time -maybe next time? The rockin' Anarakula headlined with a set heavy on punk and classic rock and we were supported by local acoustic duo, Johnny Connection (sometimes known as Jimbo & Cleatus).

Other news. At last there seems to be a bit of movement on the album. We are awaiting the production go ahead.Stay tuned folks!

PS: Don't forget to sign our guest book. we want to get to know you!
